During our journey towards developing and producing sustainable plastic free wipes, I was always in search of how we create something as natural as possible, without any preservatives, no synthetic chemicals and deliver a disinfectant product safe around the family kitchen. 

Science often leads us to looking for the magical product using a cocktail of ingredients that can deliver the perfect finished good. Then one day talking about pickling foods with white spirits vinegar, the idea of a creating a vinegar wipe became an obsession, which led me to our perfect product with one ingredient only – naturally fermented vinegar.

Naturally fermented vinegar has earned its title as the kitchen disinfectant hero thanks to its powerful blend of simplicity, safety, and sustainability. Using this ONE ingredient to make a surface disinfectant wet wipe, enabled a product with no preservatives, no synthetic chemicals and no other additives. It stands out for many reasons, including:

Natural Antimicrobial Power

  • The natural fermentation process of food grade vinegar creates acetic acid, which is the active ingredient in vinegar. The low pH level of naturally fermented vinegar in our wipes disrupts microbial cell membranes and denatures proteins, making it effective against food grade bacteria.
  • With no preservatives and no synthetic chemicals, our vinegar wipes are the only wet wipe that leaves no trace of any preservative other than the power of vinegar itself. Surfaces that have been cleaned with our vinegar wipes, present no risk when foods come into contact, even if the surface is not dry, as the only residue left on that surface is vinegar!
  • Tested to a 6-log reduction (99.9999%), our vinegar wipes have been tested to the optimum food industry standard for the removal of common kitchen and food bacteria, including: salmonella, E. coli, listeria, staph aureus and pseudomonas aeruginosa.

No Microplastic Risks & Biodegradable

  • As our wipes are made of 100% plant-based fabrics, there is zero risk of any microplastics on cleaned surfaces that can be absorbed into foods.
  • Made through fermentation of plant-based sugars, naturally fermented vinegar is biodegradable and free from synthetic chemicals. Vinegar and our fabrics break down harmlessly in the environment, unlike conventional cleaning wipes with polyesters, phosphates and ammonia.
